Fairytale Ponytail

fairytale ponytail - drifter and the gypsy blog

Hi there! It’s Aya again from Strawberry Koi, and I’m excited to be sharing another one of my favorite looks. This particular hairstyle is super easy and great to do if you’re in a hurry, but want to look extra feminine and classy. It’s also wicked versatile, by raising it higher up on the crown, or smoothing over the layers to convert it into a formal hairstyle – make this look YOU with the little touches.

01: Begin with pre-curled hair. This hairstyle is so versatile that it isn’t so important how you curl your hair, just that you create texture and volume. (setting the hair wet/braided is one of the best ways)

02: Braid the front sections/bangs of your hair. After braiding, tug at the sides braids to loosen them a bit and soften the look. If your bangs are short, leave them as is or curl them under for a little volume and vintage appeal. You can make more than two braids for even more romance! …Braids equal romance, right?

03: Tease the hair at your crown, just a bit, beneath the top layer.

04: With the braids wrapped loosely around your head, tie your hair into a low ponytail.

05: Part your ponytail just behind your hair-tie, making a “hole”.

06: Pull your ponytail up and thread it into the hole, pulling it back out again to drape down your neck.

Finished! So easy. You can tighten your hair slightly, but try to do it from underneath the ponytail so you don’t flatten the top layer. Add flowers, more braids or barrettes to enhance the feminine feel.
